My first research article details the application of my undergraduate synthesis and was published in the Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B:Biology.
My research group showed that using metalloporphyrins, or large molecules with a metal atom in the center, in conjunction with handheld light-emitting diodes (LEDs) could disrupt the microbial activity of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria.
